WHY HIRE STUDIO ORANGE?
Choosing the "right" wedding photographer might just be one of the most difficult decisions a couple can make.
For one thing, there are approximately 784,258 different "wedding photographers" currently working in the Lincoln, Nebraska area right now. Ok, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but I'll bet it FEELS that way when you're looking.
Budget is going to be one of the biggest factors for a lot of couples. That's completely understandable. Weddings aren't cheap. And I'm going to be perfectly honest with you: Studio Orange Photography just isn't going to fit into the budget for some couples. There is no shade intended here for anyone who can't afford my services. I get it.
I wish I could just charge whatever people could afford. While I do offer a lot of different packages and can even make some adjustments here and there, I'm just going to be out of range for some couples, unfortunately.
However, if you do have the budget set aside for wedding photography and you're wondering if Studio Orange is right for you, here's what I can tell you about me:
I HAVE EXPERIENCE
I've been photographing weddings since 2007 and I've experienced just about everything this profession can throw at me.
I've photographed with the sun beating down on 110 degree days and taken portraits in the snow when it was barely above zero. I've photographed ceremonies with the rain pouring down like someone was holding a fire hose over my head. I've photographed wedding ceremonies in churches so dark you'd think they still only used candles for lighting. I've photographed on party buses, in limos, on the backs of wagons. I've photographed a couple's first dance in a bounce house. I've seen Gandalf officiate a ceremony.
In short, I'm like the insurance company of wedding photographers in that I've seen a thing or two.
I LIKE TO KEEP THINGS FUN AND RELAXED
For most people, being in front of the camera is awkward. Believe me, I know. Why do you think I'm BEHIND the camera?
Because of this, I do my best to keep the day light and fun and as stress-free as I possibly can. I try to build the photography timeline with plenty of opportunities to take a break if need be so that no one feels rushed. And if you're sense of humor is goofy and irreverent? I'm your guy.
MORE THAN JUST PHOTOGRAPHY
I haven't only worked in this industry as a photographer. I've also sat in on meetings with Event Design to go over the full planning for the day and I've worked as a day-of coordinator for weddings. This means that I know how a wedding timeline is supposed to work and how to keep things running smoothly.
I take a bit of pride in the fact that every wedding coordinator I've worked with tells me that I'm one of the few photographers in town they can trust to keep things on schedule.
YOUR PHOTOS MEAN EVERYTHING TO YOU, SO PROTECTING THEM MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME
Everyone who has ever used a computer has, at one time or another, experience that sickening feeling of a hard drive failure. The loss of your data can feel devastating. But what might be even worse is the thought of someone else losing your data, especially precious memories like photos. No one can guarantee 100% protection for your data (and don't trust anyone who tries to offer such a guarantee), but I take extraordinary steps to protect your photos.
I use cameras with dual memory card slots, so each photo is recorded twice - each to separate memory cards. If one fails, there's a backup. After each wedding, photos are downloaded onto an external hard drive which is is then backed up onto a cloud-based backup service that I pay monthly for. But even then, the memory cards from the camera are not cleared until I've finished and delivered the wedding (I have a LOT of memory cards). I pay for online storage for your finished gallery so that you not only have a beautiful place to view and share your wedding photos, but you can also download them as many times as you need to -- so even if you have a computer crash, you'll still have access to your photos.
Is this over and above that I need to do? Yes. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS
All of that stuff above wouldn't mean anything if I just viewed this as a paycheck. The fact of it is that I just absolutely love photographing weddings. I think this is the best job in the world and I'm genuinely excited for every couple I get to work with.
